2. Collaboration with the universities, research centers and foundations of the USA:

In 2010 St.-Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (hereinafter – SPSU ITMO) became the participant of the program «EURECA» (EURECA - Enhancing University Research and Entrepreneurial Capacity) held by the US Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law – USRF.

The principal goal of «EUPECA» program is to assist Russian universities in improving their applied research capacity and furthering transfer of intellectual property developed or identified by universities to the real sector of the economy.

SPSU ITMO projects within «EUPECA» program is aimed at forming an «innovative hub» for the internationalization of technology transfer processes, commercializing the results of intellectual activity and facilitating their implementation in Russian organizations and companies.

SPSU ITMO’ principal partner at U.S. site within «EUPECA» program is University of California, Los Angeles.

Partners realize two modular projects:
  1. Enhancing ITMO world-wide innovative capacity – EWIC 
  2. Cross-Atlantic Innovative Bridge {for Russian innovations} – CAIB 
It is planned to involve leading innovative organizations and associations to the projects:
  1. AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers);
  2. NASVF (National Association of Seed and Venture Funds);
  3. AURP (American Association of University Research Parks);
  4. NBIA (National Business Incubation Association);
  5. NCET2 (National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer).
Pilot stage of the «EUPECA» program realization is March 2011- February 2013.

"IT - breakthrough" was launched in Kaluga
March 23, 2015

A ceremony of opening of the regional stage of the all-Russian competition of projects in the field of IT-technologies "IT-breakthrough" was held in Kaluga branch of Bauman MSTU on March 18.  For the first time the competition "IT – breakthrough” took place in Kaluga and brought prizes to Kaluga students. The idea of holding such an event was made by Dmitry Medvedev in 2010; Vladimir Putin gave start to the project at the Forum "Technologies in mechanical engineering".
